Research
RESEARCH PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN PREVENTING FOODBORNE DISEASE. IT PROVIDES INSIGHTS INTO THE TRENDS, SOURCES, TREATMENT AND OUTCOMES OF FOODBORNE ILLNESS AS WELL AS WHERE TO FOCUS INTERVENTION STRATEGIES.
Recognizing this, IFSAN facilitates, encourages and conducts research that increases our knowledge about foodborne disease and/or leads to science-based solutions to current food safety challenges. We achieve this by fostering trans-disciplinary collaborations in food safety, creating a network of food safety researchers, and leveraging these collaborations to address important research questions in food safety. IFSAN also strives to increase the visibility of George Washington University food safety research efforts both within the university and among external stakeholders.
